Frequently Asked Questions

What dance styles do you teach?

We teach all three major styles, the modern Hawaiian Hula ('auana), the Tahitian Ori and Ote'a, and the New Zealand Maori style dances.

How old do you have to be?

Currently 16+. But we will be offering a mother-daughter class soon, let us know if this is of interest to you.

Do you teach men as well?

Sorry, women only at this point. If there is enough demand, we go co-ed, but so far that has not been the case.

Where is your studio located?

There are three locations which we share with our sister company, the Nazeem Allayl Studio. Not all offer huladance, please see the class schedule page where Hula classes are taking place. Please take a printout of the exact directions with you.

Do you offer performance opportunities?

Yes, we have regular studio-shows, and are also working with local restaurants to put on student nights, see our announcement page for upcoming shows and audition information.

Can we hire your dancers for a Luau Party?

Yes, see Hulagram for more information.

Where can I buy a costume?

We sell the basic outfits and costumes at our store in the studio, and do group orders for discounted troupe and show costumes. Shared shipping from Hawaii alone saves a ton!

What do I need for class?

Loose workout clothes, what you would wear to a gym; many dance barefoot, altough we recommend (and sell) ballet slippers to protect your feet. Fake grass skirts start at $10 and complete the look, or a colorful hip scarf/sarong.

Do you also teach belly dancing?

Yes and no. We don't, but our sister organization, Nazeem Allayl does. See www.AtlantaBellyDance.com.
